I am searching for my gr gr grandfather Stephen Field Rhoades. He was born Nov 1858 or 1860 in NY but no other information known. His father was John Zacharia Rhoades. Stephen and his 13 other siblings mostly born and raised in area of Verndale MN.
He married Lorain Foote on in Mar 1882 in Verndale MN. They had four children one of whom was my gr grandmother.
Lorain died in 1895 and he later married Ione ??? probably because his youngest child was just a few months old when Lorain died. He and wife Ione and were on 1905 Census in MN with son Clarence b.1884.
Don't know when but he moved to and lived in Anchorage Alaska. He died and was buried in Anchorage Alaska Oct 1938.
I sure would appreciate any information or links anyone can dig up. Would love to know if he moved there alone or with wife Ione. What kind of occupation he had. Were there any more children.
There are lots of Rhodes and Rhoades living in Anchorage and who knows maybe some may be distant cousins of mine.
