I am researching Sarah T. Akin of Shelby County, Tennessee, born about 1831. She married Joseph H. Updegraph at Raleigh on September 19, 1848. I am hoping to find her parents. Her father may have been W.D. Akin or Joel Akin, the only Akins listed on the tax rolls in Shelby Co at that time. She had 2 daughters with Updegraph, Emma & Sarah A. Updegraph. Sarah later married Thomas G. Dobbins in Marion County (Jefferson) Texas.
