Capt William Riley Akin was born 9 Mar 1828 or 11 Jan 1827 Perry County,TN d. 4 Nov 1888 prob. Decatur Co. TN m. Elizabeth Hancock 20 Dec 1854 Decatur Co TN. He was the son of William Victor Akin and Margaret M. Poag. He had 8 children. Living in Decatur County in the 1880 census.
