There are numerous errors on the online trees and they just keep getting copied over and over. A tree for Samuel Akin m. Dorcas Star(r) has her age as 66 when her last child was born. I notified the owner of the impossibility (nicely), but it has yet to be changed. The page lists a son, Francis Marion Akin b. abt 1825. He was my husband's g.g.g.grandfather and went by the name John Mack. He died in Lauderdale Co., TN in 1877. Whether John Mack is their son, I have yet to prove, although the name Pleasant Akin has been carried down in my husband's line. I would be interested if you have any documentation that Francis Marion is the son of Samuel and Dorcas Akin. I have Francis Marion's will and his descendants that I would be happy to share if you would like them.
