Winnie Akins - East Texas

I have tried for years to find information on my grandmother Winnie. My grandfather was William Jessie Daffern, b Feb 1891 in Choctaw Nation, OK. I'm guessing he married Winnie about 1908-09. They had two sons;
1. Johnnie Marshall Daffern b. 1911 d. 1987. He married Stella Bowers. They lived in Avery, TX. Red River Co., ; 2. Eddie Carl Daffern b. 1913 d. 1997. He married Melissie Luvenia Harrison. They moved to Lubbock, TX.

The story is that Winnie's dress caught fire and she died from complications/infections of the burn when my daddy was about 6-8 months old. Additionally, they have said, Winnie was adopted...for some reason I've always thought Akin was her surname, not adopted parents...could be she lived with aunt /uncle.

I have two small pictures of a boy and girl...I think they were her cousins...the names are Clarence? and the girls name is not legible anylonger. they were written in pencil.

My uncle and daddy was born in or around Manchester, TX.

Please and thank you ...can you help solve this family mystery?
