I am looking for Richard Akins' father William. Richard was born about 1857 in Tennessee but lived in Jackson County, Ala. from about 1900 until he died in 1938. His death certificate says his father was William Akins but does not list his mother. Richard married Sarah Carden from Monroe Co, Tn the first time so I am wondering if maybe that might be where they were from. Then on the other hand there were a lot of Carden's in Jackson County. I have been unable to find where Richard and Sarah were married. Her first marriage was to a Williams in Monroe Co. If anyone knows of this Akins family and could help me find out about William I would appreciate it.
I found Sarah in 1880 census in Monroe county married to the Williams man and in the 1900 census in Jackson Co., Ala. married to Richard. I can't find Richard in the 1880 census.
