The 15 year old girl named as Manda here is my Great Grandmother. Amanda Matilda Crocker-Hill. Her father was John Hampton Crocker from Alabama. He married Mary Reese-Rees, near what was then Lee Co.,MS.. John H. Crocker died in the Civil War 1862 for the south in MS.. Amanda went with her mother and a Mr. Akin to Texas. There she met my Great Grand Father Phillip Hartwell Hill. They were married in Bell county 1881. I came upon this message because of my research into my Crocker ancestors.
