I am looking for information on any Akins in Mayo county Ireland. My ancestor is Patrick Akins born 1819 there. He moved to england sometime in the mid 1800's. He had five known children all born in different cities of Leicestershire England. His Youngest son John Thomas was born June 9 1871 in Leicester England and died in Toronto Canada.
I have not been able to find a wife for Patrick and any siblings or parents. I have info for him from English census- 1881, 91, 1901. His death cert which only found me one of his daughters. He was a cordwainer or shoemaker.
The man obviously traveled about looking for work and didn't register his children's births.
