Hadley death or birth certificates

This is a general question I guess for Alabama records.
I live in Texas and death certificates are available free to the public at most of the major libraries. (1903-1976)
They are usually on microfilm, so you have to do a little digging to find them. Of course there is a small fee for copies.

Does Alabama provide anything like this for birth or death records of family?

I have relatives who lived and died in Alabama and would like another resource to help verify dates and locations.

Hope someone can help,

Kristen Hadley
