VAUGHN of Baldwin Co., 1810
Posted by: John Bush (ID *****2274) Date: November 10, 2008 at 09:51:14

Among the oldest records in the Baldwin Co. courthouse is this deed, registered Nov 2, 1811, Deed Book A-28:

"Received the 15th day of August 1810 of George Larkin the sum of $200 it being for a certain Negro girl named Molly, which Negro I warrant and forever defend against all lawful claim or claims whatsoever."
SIGNED: J. B Vaughn
Test: Ambrose Kitchen

For years, I've been seeking information about this J. B. Vaughn. Unsuccessful so far. Any leads would be much appreciated! Thanjks.
