McINTOSH/WILLIAMSON lines 1800s

Hello: I'm always searching for new info about my McINTOSH and WILLIAMSON lines of Barbour County. Thank you for any help. Nancy
----------------------------------------------------------

John McINTOSH (b. ca 1760-1770) married Jean SIMPSON in Scotland. They had 5 sons (we know of):

Archibald McINTOSH
Daniel McINTOSH
William McINTOSH
John Gordon McINTOSH
Tom McINTOSH

John and Jean were probably living in Old Machar, Aberdeen, Scotland in the late 1700s, as two sons - Daniel and John Gordon - were christened there.

The 5 brothers came to America together - sometime between 1810 and 1820. Tom died at sea. They 4 remaining brothers settled in South Carolina, but later moved to Alabama - Barbour County - in the early 1820s. There are land records showing Archibald, Daniel, John, and Margaret McINTOSH purchasing land in Barbour County, Alabama.

Note on the name "GILLIS"

Notice two of the McINTOSH brothers married GILLIS women:

Archibald (b. 1790) married Mary GILLIS (b. 1795)
John Gordon (b. 1804) married Margaret GILLIS (b. ca 1800)

Margaret GILLIS was an heir of Hugh GILLIS who died by 1833.
I found an interesting line of a Hugh GILLIS who married a MacDONALD.

Here is that line:

1 Malcolm MacDONALD
2 William MacDONALD
3 Randald MacDONALD
4 Donald MacDONALD
5 Rory Ban MacDONALD
6 Mary MacDONALD (b. ca 1780)
m. Hugh GILLIS (b. 1770 Moidart, Scotland)
7 Rory GILLIS (b. 1803)
7 Angus GILLIS
7 Mary GILLIS
7 Alexander GILLIS
7 Flora GILLIS
7 Donald GILLIS
7 Katie GILLIS

Is this my GILLIS line?
