I am looking for information on the family of John B Caldwell. The information that I have is very sketchy, John B was born 1820 in SC and died Jul 1850 in Pontotoc County MS. He married Elizabeth Reid dau of William Reid and Mary Caldwell. John B Caldwell and Elizabeth Reid were probably cousins. Some family members say that John B Caldwell left SC in 1843 / 1844 and stopped in Benton or Calhoun County in AL before coming on to North Mississippi. John and Elizabeth had at least three children, Mary Jane b.1844, Rebecca Frances b. 1847, and William John b. 1849. I have considerable informaton on John and Elizabeth's family and on the Reid family but have been unable to find out who John B Caldwell's parents were. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
