Jack MCKERLEY of Wellington, AL

Could someone give me the real name of Jack McKerley who was married to Virginia Massey, daughter of Finis Lee and Stella Comer Massey of Alexanddria, Calhoun Co., AL? I found an obituary for Maude B. McKerley that gave his name as one of her sons. However, on the 1920 and 1930 census records, her sons' names (really her stepsons' names) were given as Hoyt, Howard, Homer, and Cardell or Carney. Is Jack a nickname for Cardell/Carney? I also found a C. H. McKerley named on the list of eligible voters next to those of Virginia M. McKerley and George McKerley in 1974. Could this be Cardell? Does anyone know if he died in Alexandria in 1994. I have a death date for a C. H. McKerley of January 2, 1994. An obit might clear things up a bit. Thanks to anyone who can shed a light on this subject.
