J.S.P. Powell b. 1800 and his wife Sarah Ann Erwin b. 1813 moved from Murray County Georgia to Chambers County, Alabama sometime after the Civil War. 1850 & 1860 they were in Murray County, Ga. 1870 census shows J.S.Powell 70 years old and a minister in Chambers County, Ala. I assume he is buried somewhere there in Chambers County. His occupation changed back and forth from attorney-at-law and minister. In Murray County in 1850 he owned 34 slaves and appeared to be quite wealthy. He had to have had a will.
If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it.
