He is not listed in the published cemetery book for the county, but for the 1870s, that doesn't mean much. There is a published will index for the county that covers that period, unfortunately, I don't have access to it right now (local genealogy library has just closed for renovations and will be shut for a month). YOur best bet might be to write the state archives. I don't think the county courthouse answers letters anymore.
