Regretably the structure was torn down back in the 30's. I've tromped over the area and have a good idea of where it once stood or at least a building of some kind. Two years ago the Streight Forrest Monument was destroyed but the Sons and Daughters of Confederate Veterans got together and had it rebuilt and now the Battle Flag flies 24/7. The current property owner even deeded the property over. The Lawrence/ Demaris Cemetery about 100 yards from there is the resting place of Col. Lawrence and Chelnessa. The story is kinda vague, but Forrest actually met with and was treated to one of the best breakfasts he ever had. Is the raid or the Lawrences that interest you.
