Blue Pond History 1865-1890

Please, if anyone can give a little history of the Bluepond area from abt 1860-around 1890. I have a great uncle Frank Hester who appeared there with all his family in the 1880 census but is missing in the 1870 Census. Births of children put him there after 1865 until the late 1880's. I would like an idea of what was going on in this area around that time.
