My mother talked about Blue Pond, AL. I found it last month. It is on Cherokee county Road 387 off of county Rd 48 about 1 mile. It is about the size of a small city lot. Once upon a time the water was very blue and therefore the name. Today it is polluted. It was the name of an early post office for the area as my ancestors had Blue Pond as an address however they lived on what is now AL road 68 and the DeKalb/Cherokee county line. Later their address was changed to Collinsville without them moving. Today the area is very rural.
