My gggrandfather was Owen Sikes born in TN abt 1812. In 1834 he and Elijah Sikes purchased land side by side. I don't know for sure, but I think Elijah was Owen's father. In 1836 Owen married Sarah C. Miller. Their children were Susan, Elijah, Napoleon, Catharine, Elizabeth, Mary, Owen M., and Octavia. Seems Owen made his home near the Butler area.
I have been able to locate Owen in the 1850 and 1860 Choctaw Co., census. Sarah and the two youngest children wer listed with a J Dearmark in the 1870 census ans then she was listed with her daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law W. H. Thompson in the 1880 census.
Does anyone know of any information that would cover the time span of 1860 to 1870 in the way of any type of records .
