Joan, thanks for the info on John. I had a census page on Alfred & Nancy for 1850 but not for 1860. If I had had it, I would have seen both Sarah Sandlin & John Williams on it. I just haven't gotten all the census records yet on the Sandlins. I'm researching so many families that I just haven't gotten around to doing more census records on them like I should have. I was hoping to learn more. I know there were some other Williams in Walker County but I haven't really searched into this Williams side of the family. The Sandlins, Stricklins, Gunters, Graves & Williams are my husband's ancestors. I really don't know that much about any of them. I also have a Williams grt. grt. grandmother on my mother's side of the family that married into the Wilbanks family. They were in Madison County.
