Rick, You live in Eva? Wow...It is indeed a very small world. ;-} My relatives purchased land in the 1970's originally deeded to my mothers ancestor, Darling McGlathery b.abt 1809- d.1879 [variant surname spellings found on census records for this family include: McGlothery/McGletherly/ McIletry] I understand Blount County originally covered a larger area including a portion of what is now Cullman County. Is Eva now in Morgan, Blount or Cullman COunty? [ 1850 Census of Subdiv.17,Blount Co.,Al. 11 total number within home. Listed with variant spelling as "McGletherly" and 1855 State Census of Alabama, Blount County, reveals head of household: McGlathery, Darling, – 3,1,7,1,12 – 0,0,0,0. ] I wonder if my "lost McGlathery" family could be buried in the McGlathery community. Do you know of any cemetery records for that area, Rick? I havent seen Robin S.'s listing of Cullman County Cemeteries yet, assume this could be within his publication so will look into that. Thanks for the info re: Lewis Smith Lake and Hoenigs. Kindest Regards, M
