Hamilton, Ala. - Betty Jean Mitchell Winters died Feb. 16, 2009, at the Marion Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Franklin County, Ala., to George and Lillian Taylor Oliver.
Services were Feb. 19, at the Marion County Funeral Home with burial in the Love Joy Cemetery.
Survivors included her children, Carol Ferrell (Edward) of Hamilton, Ala., Sue Shelton of Atlanta, Ga., Eddie Mitchell (Katy) of Arkansas, Michael Mitchell (Susan) of Mooreville, Danny Mitchell (Bonnie) of Guin, Ala., and Bruce "Sam" Mitchell (Karen) of Texas; one sister, Mattie Stone (James) of Fulton; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a special friend, Paul Farley of Hodges, Ala.; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert Mitchell and Ed Winters; two grandsons, Anthony "A.J." Beck and Blake Mitchell; her parents; three sisters, Estell Stidham, Lillian Childers and Carnell Mitchell;and two brothers, Mack, Warren and Rather Oliver.
