Hazel Cox, 77, died March 28, 2009, at the ECM Hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1931 in Alabama, to Jessie Green and Bertha Ray Mitchell. She was a homemaker and attended Patterson Chapel.
Services were at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with burial in the New Hope Cemetery in Hodges, Ala. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two sons, Benny Cox and David Cox, both of Red Bay; one daughter, Dinah Gresham of Red Bay; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollin "Buz" Cox on March 23, 2009; two sons, Dennis Cos and Ricky Cox; her parents; and her siblings, Della Lofton, Guy Mitchell, Ella Holt, Arch Mitchell, Vonna Raper, Annie Mae Mitchell and Alla Mitchell.
