Beatrice Ashley Hicks, 88, of Phil Campbell, died April 21, 2009, at her home. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church for 71 years.
Funeral services were April 23, 2009, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Survivors included her sons, Charles Ashley and Carl Ashley, both of Haleyville; daughters, Louise Frazier and Kathleen Oden, both of Phil Campbell; adopted children, Glenda Goins, of Russellville, and Terry Joe Pinkard, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; stepchildren, Frankie Hicks, Joyce Hamby, and Lois Barton, all of Haleyville; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph William Ashley and Otis Hicks; daughter, Ruth Barnett; step children, Calvin Ashley, Clayton Ashley, Cecil Ashley, Vernell Elkins and Brenda Robinson; three sisters and nine brothers.
