Booneville – William A. “Bill” Creekmore, 66, died April 29, 2009, at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1943, in Red Bay, Ala., the son of William Hersey Creekmore and Flora Jones Creekmore. He was a member of Tuscumbia Baptist Church. He worked for General Binding Corporation in Northbrook, Ill., from 1958 to 1979, working his way through the ranks to become plant superintendent. He worked as production manager at the Day-Brite Lighting plant in Tupelo from 1982 until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed genealogy and landscaping, and he especially enjoyed his work.

Services were May 2 at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Tuscumbia Cemetery.

Survivors included his wife, Guinn King Creekmore, whom he married Dec. 25, 1961; two daughters, Angela Creekmore Seawright of Booneville and Michelle Creekmore Jones (Al) of Belden; a brother, Raymond Creekmore of Red Bay; four sisters, Maxine Sanford of Salem, Ind., Evelyn Ermis of Okolona, Earline Markham of Red Bay and Lillian Sweeney of Alexandria, Va.; and five grandchildren, Chris Seawright of Booneville, Jodi Wheeler, Chase Jones, Tripp Jones and Trevor Jones, all of Belden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Creekmore and Jerry Creekmore; and a sister, Rosetta Creekmore.
