FAYETTEVILLE, TENN. - Eva Jo Kent, 73, died May 25, 2009. She was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Helena, Ark., to Gordie and Estell Smith Newsome. She was a homemaker.
Services were at the Senter Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Halltown Cemetery in Red Bay, Ala. Senter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two daughters, Jackie Kent of Huntsville, Ala. and Melody Yates of Mobile, Ala.; two sons, William Kent (Kimberly) of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Nathan Kent (Shelia) of Ostella, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat Woody of Meridianville, Ala.; three brothers, Freland Newsom of Livingston, Texas, and Derrell Newsom and Larry Newsom, both of Louisburg, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vardaman Franklin Kent Sr.; son, Vardaman Franklin Kent Jr.; and sister, Ruth Nadine Newsome.
