Nella Ruth Spencer, 77, died June 30, 2009, at her residence. She was born July 19, 1931, in Red Bay, Ala., to Franklin and Mattie Pearl Barker Strawbridge. She was a welder with KD Metal for 13 years and a member of Eastside Church of Christ.
Services were at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with burial in Red Bay City Cemetery.
Survivors included her daughter, Rita Sheryl Blunt (Eddie) of Red Bay; one sister, Betty Smith (Bobby) of Red Bay; two brothers, Otis Strawbridge (Carolyn) and Larry Strawbridge (Jannis), all of Red Bay; her caregiver, Laura Rogers; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Spencer.
