I am searching for information on Alfred J. Bras(s)field and his wife Amy (could be Anny or Orrey), who was a schoolteacher in Forkland, AL (Greene County)in 1850. Believe they are the parents of my g-gfather, John L. Brasfield. John L. served in the Union Army in Co. D, 1st Alabama and later in Co. M 12th Tennessee. Alfred was in Walker Co. in 1860 but seems to have disappeared after that. John married Rhoda Vines in 1865. Have not been able to locate him in any of the censuses in 1870 and 1880, although it has been proven that he was in Walker and Jefferson Counties during that period. Any information will be appreciated.
