In my message in this thread (no. 292), I speculated that SARAH WILLIAMS whose estate was mentioned in an Orphans Court record of Green County, Ala. (Book H, pg. 353) might be the widow of a DAVID WILLIAMS, JR. I now believe this is INCORRECT and instead believe there is good evidence that she is the widow of HUBBARD WILLIAMS of ANSON COUNTY, North Carolina. The orphan's court record mentions that ANTHONY WILLIAMS, one of her heirs, is living in ANSON COUNTY, North Carolina. Other names mentioned in the estate record include Hannah Williams, Charles Williams, Emily Williams, Dorcas Henry Williams, Solomon Williams, John J. Williams, and Silas Williams. The administrator of the estate was PAUL WILLIAMS (May 16, 1812-Nov. 1, 1877), the son of Capt. ISAAC WILLIAMS (ca. 1774-ca. 1850's). A deed found in ANSON COUNTY [Deed Bk X, p. 362, 7 Feb. 1830] shows the heirs of HUBBARD WILLIAMS to be widow SARAH WILLIAMS, and also HANNAH WILLIAMS, SILAS WILLIAMS, ANTHONY WILLIAMS, Clement Burmingham & wife MARY, SOLOMON WILLIAMS,, JOHN WILLIAMS, PAUL WILLIAMS, EMILY WILLIAMS, PETER WILLIAMS, Isham Henry & wife DORCAS, Benjamin Harris for wife REBECCA. Along with the stated link to Anson County in the Greene County Record, the similar in names is noteworthy. ---- Jay Notify Administrator about this message?
