I am working on the children of Wesley Stone and Ellen L. Stone, born 1850 - 1852 in Alabama, is currently my problem area. The first (not verified) record I find is :
ELLEN STONE married COVINGTON B. MC LEOD on 27 DEC 1866 in Henry County, Alabama

Ellen and Covington McLeod lived in Henry County, Alabama when the 1870 census was taken. Sometime between 1870 and 1880 they moved to Precinct 1 in Gregg County, Texas where they were enumerated in that Federal Census. I do not find the McLeod family in census after 1880.
Ellen Stone is mentioned as Ellen McGrede in the History of Judson School District at the Longview High School Website but I have not found anything on an Ellen McGrede in census records. Was she indeed Ellen Stone Covington McGrede? If so, where did she live. When and where died she die?
Can anyone help me with this portion of the puzzle?
