I am looking for info on Wiley J. Cook family of Henry Co., Brock Beat, 1860 Henry Co . Census. Wife is Mary, with ch: Matilda A., Middleton, George W., Henry, Jane, William & Harriet listed. 1870 Census lists: W.J.Cook, age 60 with wife, Mary, & ch: Wilson & Harriet. The 1880 census lists Wiley J. Cook, age 71, born S.C., Mary, wfie, age 69, with E.W. WRIGHT,g'son, age 20 & Mary Wright,g'dau., age 17 . I am trying to connect Wiley J. Cook to my ancestor, James M. Cook, who married Ann Wright, Jan.,1850, Henry Co.AL. At this time it is believed that James M. Cook is the son of Wiley Cook. James Cook was wounded in the Civil War and is buried at Wright's Chapel Cem., His headstone gives his name "James Cook, Age 50" and no more.....also there is an "Evander" Cook who is listed as a child James & Ann Cook. Another "Evander Cook" m. Martha Ann Norris(or Mims?). I'm sure Evander is James' brother/uncle/etc.
A son of Ann Wright Cook was born in 1868. His name was also Wiley and it is believed that he was James' child, although no proof has been found. Any help with this family is appreciated. Thanks.
