Jimmie Nell Gardner Hollis, 64, Sulligent, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at her residence. Born on Dec. 18, 1943, in Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Cindy Jones Hollis. She was employed as a nurse ’s aide. She was a member of the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed doing work for her church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hollis, Jr., and sister, Kysola Gardner.
Funeral services were July 8, 2008, from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel of Sulligent, with burial in the Reedus Cemetery.
Survivors included her sons - Jim Allen (Alice Marie) and Tommy James Hollis, both of Sulligent, Troy Lee (Clara) Hollis, Vernon, Oscar (Melinda) Hollis, Russellville, and Paul (Tammi) Hollis, Hamilton; daughter - Wilma Mae Hollis, Sulligent; brothers - Johnny (Bessie) Gardner, Millport, and Aaron Gardner, Indianapolis, Ind.; sister - Louise (Elsae) Kaufaman, Hampton, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
