hamilton - Rayford Cantrell, 85, Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at his residence. Born on March 31, 1923, in Marion County, he was the son of the late Clint and Leota Lindsey Cantrell. He was retired and was owner and operator of Cantrell Store for over 40 years. He was a member of the Marion County Board of Education for many years. He was a veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nila Cantrell.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 31, from the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Hamilton Memory Gardens.
Survivors included his sons - Steve (Patsy) Cantrell, Clemson, S.C., and Alan (Teena) Cantrell, Hamilton; and grandchildren - Tyler Cantrell, Clemson, S.C., and Emily Cantrell, Tuscaloosa.
Hamilton Funeral Home directed the services.
