winfield - Faye Galbreath Pope, 79, Winfield, died on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Born on Jan. 24, 1929, in Blount County, she was the daughter of the late James Willie and Ida Elizabeth Green Galbreath. She was a resident of Winfield since 1962. She was a previous resident of Talladega, El Salvador, San Salvadore and Fayette. She was a graduate of Blount County High School. She was previously employed at Reltoc Manufacturing and Wal-Mart in Winfield. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Winfield First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband - Richard R. Pope, Sr.; sons - Dewitt D. Sr. and James Allen “Jimmy” Pope; and brothers - Lavoye and Jimmy Galbreath. Funeral services were held Aug. 22, from the Winfield First Baptist Church, with burial in the Winfield City Cemetery. Survivors included her sons - Steve (Dawn) Pope, Franklin, Tenn., Rick (Janet) Pope, Northport, and Richard R. (Anne) Pope, Jr., Winfield; grandchildren - Dick, David, Lynn, Neal, Derek, Andrea, and Joshua Pope and Ericka Spann; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law - Faye and Sue Galbreath; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
