Robin Turner Powell, 54, Winfield, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at her residence. Born on Feb. 26, 1954, in Spring Hill, N.C., she was the daughter of Barbara Ann Carrico Turner and the late Rodney William Turner, Sr. She was a 1972 graduate of Grange Hill High School in Chesterfield, Va. She attended Bob Jones University in Greensville, S.C., and Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. She was a resident of Winfield since 1977. She previously worked as a ward clerk at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield and self-employed, operating Happi Faces and Daycare at her residence. She was a member of the Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Aug. 21, from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home of Winfield, with burial in the Zion Cemetery.
In addition to her mother, survivors included her husband - Grady Powell; son - Joshua Carrington Powell, Winfield; brothers - Kenneth Edward (Donna) Turner, Richmond, Va., and Rodney William Turner, Tupelo, Miss.; nieces - Nacole Michelle Turner, Richmond, Va., Rebecca (David) Hill, Hamstead, N.C., and Rachael Ann Turner, Roanoke, Va.; nephew - Kenneth Edward (Rachel) Turner, Jr., Richmond, Va.; great-niece - Sophie Turner; great-nephew - Nathan Turner; and other relatives.
