tuscumbia - Ray Tidwell, 71, Tuscumbia, died Aug. 21, 2008, at the Helen Keller Hospital. Born on June 13, 1937, in Marion County, he was the son of the late Pinkney and Ida Carter Tidwell. He worked in construction. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a faithful member of the Lord’s Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Everrett Tidwell.
Funeral services were held on Aug. 23, 2008, from the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Fulton Bridge Cemetery.
Survivors included his daughter - Tina (Stephen) King; two grandchildren; sisters - Dean Ledbetter and June (Dorris) Mann; brother - Eugene (Hellen) Tidwell; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special family at Sunbridge Shoals.
