Funeral services for John Young Bogue Kerr, 80, were held March 8, 1957. He was born in Itawamba County and lived on Detroit, Ala., Rt. 2. He had lived there for 60 years. He died at his home on March 6 from complications following a stroke. He had been ill for several years. Services were conducted in the Liberty Community Church with burial in the Liberty Cemetery. Nichols Funeral Home of Haleyville had charge. He was a Mason and a Masonic Funeral was held by the members of the Hamilton Lodge. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors included his wife; six sons, Alvin Kerr of Hamilton, Ala., El Kerr of Fulton, Ether Kerr, Leamon Kerr, Connie Kerr and Olen Kerr, all of Zion, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. Reba Godshaw, Mrs. Descie Russell and Mrs. Etta Harris, all of Fulton, and Mrs. Retha Stone of Hamitlon.
