Winfield - Phyllis Joan Carr, 74, Winfield, died Oct. 29, 2008. Born on April 8, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Marjorie Bailey. She served in the medical field for over 40 years. She was a lifetime member of the American Women’s Auxillary and served as president for two different posts. She was a past president of the Business Professional Women’s Society. She was a member of the Victorious Life Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Bailey.
Funeral and graveside services were held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, from the Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham, with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors included her sister - Barbara Bailey; son - Raymond H. (Carrie) Carr, IV; daughters - Kerry (Kent) Kilgore, Kelly (Greg) May, and Jamie (Michael Weaver) Carr; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Elmwood Chapel of Birmingham directed the services.
