hamilton - Elbert L. “Red” Clement, 88, Hamilton, died Oct. 30, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton. Born on Aug. 15, 1920, in Hamilton, he was the son of the late Dewey Lee and Flora Cox Clement. He was a retired land surveyor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton. He served with the 46th Naval SeeBee Battalion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Linda Clement.

Funeral services were Nov. 1, 2008, from the Shiloh Baptist Church, with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery.

Survivors included his wife of 63 years - Lois Dyar Clement; daughters - Vivian C. Sullenberger, Cairo, Ga., and Andrea C. Harbison, Vestavia Hills; son - Brent Lee Clement, Russellville; grandchildren - Kent Eric, Kyle Evan and Keri Elise Wiginton, Ashley Nicole and Kelly Marie Clement, and James Ethan, Anna Lee and Sarah Lynn Harbison; great-granddaughter - Ella Claire Wiginton; and sisters - Ozell Dyar and Lorene Graben, both of Hamilton, and Elmo Nix, Phil Campbell.

Hamilton Funeral Home directed the services.
