brilliant - Rex Allen Hulsey, 38, Brilliant, died Oct. 28, 2008, at his residence. Born on March 2, 1970, in Marion County, he was the son of the late Ronnie Lee, Sr. and Ruthie Geneva Pratt Hulsey. He was a resident of Brilliant for most of his life. He was employed with Cahaba Coal and Contracting Company for the past several years. He was a member of the Shepherd’s Field Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Odell Hulsey and Ruthie and Hubert “Bass” Pratt.
Funeral services were Oct. 31, from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home of Winfield, with burial in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens.
Survivors included his wife - Anita Hulsey; sons - Alan Goodwin, Sulligent, Nathan Goodwin, Winfield, and Kaleb and Jerrod Atkinson, Brilliant; granddaughter - Mariah Harris Goodwin; grandmother - Vernell Hulsey (Merlin) Stought, Brilliant; brother - Lee (Jana) Hulsey, Brilliant; sister - Ginger Vaughn, Cartersville, Ga.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
