November 16, 2008 @ 2:00pm Directions: Take Hwy 72, W of Athens, turn left on Brownsferry St., Brownsferry St. becomes Brownsferry Rd. Church is on left. (14790 Brownsferry Rd.) Mrs. Christopher was one of only 11 “Real Daughters” in Alabama; nationally she was 1 in 770. A “Real Daughter” is a first generation daughter of a Revolutionary soldier or patriot who was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. As you can see, this is a limited distinction and Mrs. Mary (Faver) Christopher has truly placed her mark in history. Mary Malissa was born 1841 to John Faver, a Revolutionary soldier, and his 2nd/3rd wife, Mahala Lee in Limestone Co., AL. Mrs. Christopher was a lifelong Limestone County resident and died in 1917. Her 1st husband was Alfred P. Reid. Their two sons were Alfred and Albert. After the death of her 1st husband, she married William Richard Christopher and had Susie Lee (Christopher) Gray. If you are a descendant or know of descendants of Mary Malissa (Faver) Reid Christopher , we ask that you please contact us at: e-mail: DW27405@Charter.Net We hope to find as many descendants as possible for our ceremony in November. Thank you for any help that you can give us in locating her descendants. JWK Rededication Committee Notify Administrator about this message?
