George Clifton of Ireland, Delaware, Georgia and Alabama??
I was looking for a tie in to Whittington Clifton who fought with George and stumbled on this:
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Volume 31 page 64
Mrs. Annie Eyre Baker Inman.30181
Born in Lewes, Delaware.
Widow of William T. Inman.
Descendant of John Clifton, of Delaware.
Daughter of Daniel Clifton Baker and Elizabeth P. Pierce, his wife.
Granddaughter of Benjamin Baker and Tabitha Clifton, his wife.
Gr.-granddaughter of John Clifton and Tabitha, his wife.
John Clifton, (1750-1802), served as a private in the Delaware militia. He was severely wounded
in the southern campaign and being disabled from further duty, was placed on the pension roll, 1785.
He was born in Ireland; died in Lewes, Delaware. His brothers Whittington and George also gave
service.
Also Nos. 17431, 29782.
Is this the George Clifton who later moved to Georgia and then Alabama??What ya think??
