My gr-gr-gr-grandfather is Bronson Norris b:abt. 1834 GA. (very probable this is his middle name) I have only found him on the 1860 Holmes Co.Fl census, with his wife Evaline 'clarkie' Ann Kittrell. He states that his father was born in GA also.

He enlisted in the American Civil War in Vernon Fl. on March 25, 1863 as a private in Co.K 11th Inf. Reg.Fl, promoted to full Corp. on June 15, 1863. Deserted on July 3, 1863 at Camp Boyington,Fl.
NOTE: I read information by a researcher that states many soilders of the 11th Infantry deserted also, but no-one knows why.

Bronson is found on the Holmes Co. Fl "CONSOLIDATED LIST OF JURORS AND WITNESS CERTIFICATE" serving as a defendant in one or more 1854/55 cases and a witness in 1862 case. This would have been
shortly before he enlisted in the American Civil War on March 25, 1863.
There are also 2 other NORRIS persons listed on this list, James Norris and Eli Norris(could Eli be short for Elizabeth?). I don't know who they are, but I feel that they must be related to him somehow.

For unknown reason, his wife Evaline 'clarkey' Ann Kittrell remarries on March 30, 1867 to George Ogleby,Sr. and has 10 children with him. ( Is the because he deserted in July 1863 and possibly fled from the area and they split up? Or did he pass away suddenly? Many questions still remain unanswered!)

My grandmother, Lila M.Flowers registered her children and grandchildren in 1957 as Eastern Creek Indians and claimed our Indian bloodline through the Norris and Kittrell line. We are registered under the Roll # 11089 Sam Moniac.

According to a statement given from Jessie King-McNeil (Thomas King's daughter from his 3rd marriage), our Indian bloodline comes from the Norris side.

She also makes this statement:
A white man married the Indian woman. Fannie Norris (known as: Mary Frances'fannie"Bell King-Norris) great grandfather married the Indian. Fanny had my dad, William Thomas King.

Document passed down to me states:

Norris June 8, 1865 / M.M Graham-M.G

This marriage document is what has led me to Monroe Co.Al to explore the Norris families. I cannot prove as of yet, but strongly feel that William Norris of Geogia on the 1860 Monroe Co.Al census could possibly be Bronson's father?
There is a big simularity in the name of William's first wife Mary and thier daughter Francis verses the name that Bronson gave his first born daughter,Mary Frances 'fannie' Bell Norris.

1870 Monroe Co.Al census, John is married to Frances age 27/GA with 6 children listed and a Hillery Cotwell age 18,Al.

I wanted to present my information to other Norris family members and request help trying to prove my beliefs that my Bronson Norris is the family line of Burrel, William, John and Alexander Norris that can be found in Monroe Co.Al on the 1860 and 1870 Census.
I have located them in Henry Co.Al on the 1850 census along with a H.K Norris age 35/GA in a seperate household. Does anyone know who he is and is John and Sandy born in GA, in Burwell Norris's household possibly H.K's children?

I would also love to know the maiden name of wife of Burrel Norris-age 65-SC, the maiden name for William's wife Mary and John's first wife, Angeline?

It appears to me that Burrel/Burwell Norris, John Norris and Alexander Norris each named a daughter very simular.

Burrel/Burwell Norris-
Barzilla- age 20 on 1850 Henry Co.Al census (b: abt.1830)AL

John Norris-
Brazella-age 4 on 1860 Monroe Co.Al census(b: abt.1856)AL
Brazilla-age 13 on 1870 Monroe Co.Al census(b: abt.1856-7)"

Alexander Norris-
Burzilla-age 6 on 1860 Monroe Co.Al census(b: abt. 1854)SC

2. Thomas Ward (m. 1848 Brazilla Norris) Family Enumerated as Follows:
1850 Henry Co., AL Fed Census
Pg 438A
Dwelling # 862
Family # 876
Thomas WARD, 24 WM, bAL (1826)
Brazilla (nee NORRIS from 1848 Marriage Record), 23 WF, b: AL (1827)

Is this Brazilla Burrell/Burwell Norris's daughter with the birth date being slightly off from 1850 Henry Co.Al census? And if so, why would she be listed twice on the 1850 Henry Co.Al census in two seperate households?

Maybe this is another Brazilla from another Norris family other than Burrel/Burwell, John and Alexander Norris?

I would appreciate any information, leads and your input on the Norris families .Thx
