i am looking for more details concerning a McLane family that lived in or near Pike County - Alabama in the 1840's - near Troy? - in the Spring Hill Community
My fore father was named Malcomb McLane and was married to 2 wives in and around Pike County? or Dale or Barbour Counties during the 1840's
1st wife - Miss Bently
2nd wife - (Mary) Jane Smith
he had a total of 23 children by both women
he supposedly had a half-brother named Jack Owens who had 2 sons - Mac and Charlie Owens - Charlie Owens married a Phillips girl - Roxy Phillips
Malcomb McLane had an elder? son named Will McLane born in Alabama in 1837 ? orlater - married Camila in 1858 in Alabama - died in 1902 at Fincastle, east Texas
names of some of the other 23 children- John, Nancy Phillips, Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Dickerson, James Daniel, Alexander - all died in Fincastle, Texas
