Harrell, Pike Co. AL, 1860s, moved to LA
Below is a portion of the probated will of Jesse Harrell (my GGGGFather). He was married to Rosannah
Rushing.
"The petition of Jesse W. Harrell a resident of the Parish and State above written with respect represent
that his father Jesse Harrell departed this life at his resident in said parish some time in the month of
August 1861 intestate having Rosanna Harrell his surviving spouse and partner in community and several
heirs to his estate viz: J.P. Harrell,H.C. Harrell, Phoebe E. Harrell, J.W. Harrell, Lewis J. Harrell, Emily
E. Harrell and Francis M. Harrell the three last mentioned being minors, also leaving a small estate
consisting of real and personal property rights and civil."
I am searching for these children.
J. P. Harrell is John Pleasant Harrell who married Catherine Jordan.
H. C. Harrell is Abraham Cook Harrell who married Susan J. Love.
Phoebe E. Harrell
J.W. Harrell is Jesse William "Bill" Harrell who married Mary Elizabeth Ethridge.
Lewis J. Harrell is Lewis Jackson Harrell who never married.
Emily E. Harrell could possibly be his daughter Emeliza or it could stand for Emily Elizabeth. However,
on one of the census records, the girls name read Emeliza.
Francis M. Harrell could me Francis Marion Harrell.
Jesse and Rosannah were listed on the 1860 Pike County, Alabama census before they moved their entire
family to Louisiana after their oldest son's death on 10/24/1860.
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Brenda Anne Harrell
