This is facinating! Actually my grandfather's name was Juan Alba, not de Alba, but Alba and de Alba could well be different branches of the same family. Here's the interesting part. My father's name was Jubentino Alba. Of course, dad was born in the U.S., but we always wondered about where his first name came from, as we had never heard of anyone else with that name. A family name, maybe? I'll have to check my map and see if I can find El Valle de Guadalupe to see how far it is from Encarnacion de Diaz. Thanks for responding.
