Maria,
A short people joke! I like your sense of humor, being quite short, myself. Encarnación is also in the northern region of Jalisco. It is north of San Juan de los Lagos where my maternal grandfather was from. My paternal grandparents Juan Alba and Maria de Jesus Martínez de Alba, or Jesusita, came to the U.S. through El Paso c. 1915. They settled in Jerome, Arizona where there children were born--Pedro, Jubentino, and Rogelio. There was also a little girl named Josefina who died in early childhood. Juan's parents were Rosalio Alba and Hilaria González. As far as I've been able to determine both were from the Encarnación area. We know very little about my grandma Jesusita's family though, only that she had a brother Ramon Martínez.
