Origin of Alba

In Spanish, which I'm native speaker, ALBA means related with white. Is the femenine way, the masculine is Albo. Both also exist as surname.

For instance:
"El equipo albo", the white team
"La noche alba", the white night

I also known the jews (Sepharadim) origin of Alva. My gggrandmother was Esther Alva. Three families with that surname living in Bitola, Macedonia, where killed by the nazis in 1943 along with the rest of the jews.

In Toledo, Spain, prior to 1492 one Ysaque Alva is documented: "Los Judios de Toledo" by Pilar Leon Tello, Intituto Arias Montano, Madrid, 1979 (documents 1418 and 1506).
