According to the Albaugh family information in the "Albaugh Project" and my own research, a great many German Baptist Brethren, known as Dunkards, moved west from PA. First they settled at Mt. Morris, IL, where they founded a school. Then they moved on west to IA. The Albaughs and Millers settled about 1846-1850 north of Cedar Rapids. There were also several members of the Hoover and Snyder families in this migration.
