Indian heritage in Albaugh/Ream families
Posted by: Julie Austin Date: August 01, 2001 at 16:48:29

My great-grandmother was Samantha Viola or Viola Samantha (Albaugh) Bowers, born in PA in 1870 and died in 1951. Her parents were Samuel Albaugh, b. 1833, and Mary (Ream) Albaugh, b. 1842, d. 1931. She also had a brother named Jonathan, b. 1867, d. 1952. My great-grandmother was Indian, but I don't know if the heritage came from the Albaugh or Bowers side of her family. I am looking for any information about the tribal affiliation (i.e., what tribe she was from) of my great-grandmother.
